Position: Branch Manager – Ol Kalou Branch

Job Purpose
The Branch Manager will work closely with the Head of Branches to implement bank policies and oversee overall branch operations. The role is responsible for driving business growth, delivering exceptional customer service, leading and developing staff, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and business planning for the branch
- Drive business growth across assets and liabilities portfolios
- Strengthen marketing initiatives and brand positioning
- Enhance customer experience and relationship management
- Oversee branch operations, security, and service delivery
- Lead, coach, and manage branch staff performance
- Ensure strict adherence to risk, compliance, and regulatory standards
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be accountable for achieving branch performance targets, growing the customer base, and increasing revenue through innovative business development strategies. This includes managing lending portfolios, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) regulations.
The role also demands strong leadership in cultivating a high-performance culture, mentoring teams, and delivering a superior customer experience that drives loyalty and long-term growth.
Requirements
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
- Master’s degree is an added advantage
Experience
- Minimum 8 years in banking, with exposure to branch operations, credit management, and business development
- At least 4 years in a leadership or managerial role
Key Competencies
- Strong understanding of retail and SME banking products
- In-depth knowledge of CBK regulations and compliance frameworks
- Proven leadership, sales, and business development skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities
- Strong analytical, planning, and decision-making skills
Professional Certification
- AKIB Diploma in Banking (added advantage)
