The Relationship Manager

 

Nairobi Region role is a full-time position targeting experienced professionals in banking, with at least seven years’ experience, including strong exposure to sales and portfolio management. The primary objective is to build, manage, and grow client relationships while achieving sales targets, increasing wallet share, and driving profitability within an assigned segment.

This role combines strategic planning and execution. The jobholder contributes to branch performance by developing and implementing individual business plans aligned with growth objectives. A key focus is expanding the customer base, deepening existing relationships, and identifying new business opportunities to enhance both assets and liabilities portfolios.

The Relationship Manager is also responsible for marketing and brand positioning, ensuring the bank remains competitive and top-of-mind among enterprise clients. This includes understanding market trends, engaging key stakeholders, and supporting product campaigns that deliver value to customers.

Customer experience is central to the role. The jobholder is expected to strengthen client loyalty, improve satisfaction scores, and proactively address customer needs through tailored financial solutions. Regular engagement, feedback collection, and relationship-building are critical to minimizing attrition and driving long-term growth.

Additionally, the role requires supporting branch operations when necessary, maintaining high standards of leadership and professional development, and ensuring strict adherence to risk and compliance frameworks. This includes meeting regulatory requirements, monitoring transactions, and upholding the bank’s AML and KYC policies.
