Role Overview
This position focuses on building, growing, and managing a strong portfolio of Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) clients. The successful candidate will drive customer acquisition, deepen existing relationships, and support the bank’s overall growth strategy through quality lending and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Performance
- Manage and expand an SME client portfolio to drive profitability, product uptake, and customer satisfaction.
- Identify and onboard new SME clients while maintaining a healthy balance of assets and liabilities in line with set targets.
- Increase revenue through fees and commissions by promoting relevant banking products and services.
- Assess credit applications carefully to minimize risk and manage non-performing assets where necessary.
- Support branch marketing initiatives to grow business within the assigned region.
- Utilize market data and insights to identify and target high-potential sectors.
Customer Experience
- Deliver timely and efficient service in line with agreed turnaround times.
- Process customer requests and loan applications accurately, following established procedures.
- Maintain an updated database of clients and conduct regular follow-ups to strengthen relationships.
- Handle customer concerns promptly, ensuring quick resolution or escalation where required.
Compliance & Operations
- Adhere strictly to regulatory guidelines and internal policies, ensuring effective risk management.
- Maintain high integrity standards to prevent fraud within the portfolio.
- Prepare complete and accurate loan documentation in line with the bank’s credit policy.
Professional Development
- Build strong knowledge of banking products and services.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and performance.
- Strengthen cross-selling capabilities to improve client value.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 2 years’ experience in banking or financial services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field from a recognized institution.
