Position: Retail Sales Executive – Nairobi CBD

Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite
Location: Nairobi CBD
Education Required: Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
Experience: 2–3 years in retail sales
Salary Range: KSh 30,000 – KSh 50,000 per month

Role Overview
We are looking for a disciplined and customer-focused Retail Sales Executive to join our Nairobi CBD store. You will be responsible for delivering outstanding retail sales through excellent customer service, accurate invoicing, strict stock management, and maintaining a clean, organized retail environment. This role demands honesty and accountability as it involves handling company cash, stock, and official records.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Sales & Customer Engagement
  • Attend to walk-in customers professionally and courteously.
  • Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products.
  • Prepare quotations, close sales, and encourage repeat business.
  1. Cash Handling & Sales Documentation
  • Issue accurate invoices and official receipts for all transactions.
  • Ensure no products leave the shop without full payment and proper documentation.
  • Obtain management approval for any credit transactions.
  • Confirm stock availability before committing to a sale.
  1. Shop Maintenance
  • Keep the store tidy, organized, and presentable at all times, including counters, shelves, and customer areas.
  1. Integrity & Compliance
  • Handle company cash, stock, equipment, and records with honesty and accountability.
  • Immediately report theft, fraud, stock loss, or unethical behavior.
  • Adhere to company policies, lawful instructions, and disciplinary procedures under the Employment Act, 2007.
  1. Reporting
  • Submit daily sales, cash, and handover reports accurately and on time.
  • Promptly escalate operational or customer-related issues.

Work Schedule

  • Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (mandatory)
  • Punctuality is essential for opening and closing the store.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Certificate in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in retail sales, preferably in hardware, construction, electrical, or security products.
  • Valid Good Conduct Certificate is required.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Accuracy in invoicing, receipt issuance, and cash handling.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a busy retail environment.
  • Reliable, disciplined, and trustworthy.
  • Must be available to work weekends.
