Africa Data Centres Executive Dan Kwach Exits After 19 Years, Marks Major Shift in Africa’s Digital Infrastructure Sector

Dan Kwach, one of the longest-serving executives at Africa Data Centres (ADC), has officially announced his departure, bringing to a close nearly 20 years at the heart of East Africa’s rapidly expanding data centre and digital infrastructure industry. Kwach confirmed his exit through a statement on his LinkedIn page, marking the end of a 19-year tenure that saw him influence key milestones in the region’s cloud and connectivity ecosystem.

In his farewell message, Kwach revealed that he had received the “blessings to exit” Africa Data Centres, a subsidiary of Cassava Technologies, after serving in multiple leadership capacities during the company’s growth and transformation phases. “After 19 years at the organisation that has been part of my professional journey and gone through various transformations, I confirm having got the blessings to exit from Africa Data Centres,” he said.

Although he did not disclose details about his next destination, Kwach noted that he is transitioning into a new role outside the Cassava Technologies group. He thanked colleagues, partners, and industry peers for their support during the transition. “The humbling words of encouragement from all of you have really helped me garner the strength and courage to move on as I transition to my next role,” he added.

Kwach played a central role in shaping the organisation’s strategy as it evolved from Liquid Intelligent Technologies’ data infrastructure initiatives into the independent Africa Data Centres brand. During his tenure, the company attracted major global cloud service providers, strengthened interconnection partnerships, and expanded the continent’s largest neutral data centre ecosystem.

Reflecting on his legacy, he highlighted the team’s achievements. “We not only built the richest digital ecosystem but also brought global cloud partners to this continent that is home,” he noted, emphasising the collaborative effort behind ADC’s regional dominance.

Africa Data Centres has yet to announce a successor or provide further details on the leadership transition following Kwach’s exit.
