The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has opened applications for AgriTech startups to join its Pan-African Incubation Programme under the timbuktoo initiative. Hosted in Ghana and supported by the Government of Japan, the programme seeks to identify and scale startups transforming agriculture across Africa.
Applications close on 27 April 2026, with the first cohort set to begin in May 2026.
The programme is part of timbuktoo’s broader mission to position Africa as a global leader in innovation. Through its AgriTech Hub, it supports startups leveraging technology to improve productivity, strengthen food systems, and build climate resilience across the agricultural value chain.
Selected startups will benefit from structured incubation led by top African incubators, mentorship from industry experts, investor access, and integration into a Pan-African innovation ecosystem. Participants will also receive investment readiness training, access to digital tools powered by Seedstars, and opportunities to pitch at demo days.
The initiative targets solutions in climate-smart agriculture, precision farming, agri-finance, market access, and supply chain innovation. Eligible applicants must have at least a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), a committed team, and scalable solutions addressing real agricultural challenges.
Women-led startups, youth entrepreneurs, and founders in underserved communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
