Latest traffic data for the most visited websites in the world is out, and Google still takes the lead with a whopping 16.2 billion visits as of July 2025. This reflects a 3 percent month-over-month increase.
Alongside other big tech companies, Google continues to dominate the internet space – a position it has held for a long time. The main reason Google outshines the rest is because it serves as the gateway to almost every website on earth. Every site you can think of is first discovered through Google; simply put, ‘we “google” them to find them’.
A report from Similarweb established that, although, the new entrant, ChatGPT, is also widely consumed globally, it currently ranks as the 10th most visited website in the United States. It still trails long-standing platforms like Reddit, Bing, and Yahoo.
People across the world use ChatGPT to search for work-and business-related answers. The report revealed that 30 percent of ChatGPT queries are centered around work or business.
In India, it is said that the Sam Altman–founded platform ranks as the 4th most visited site, while the rest of the world continues to find it difficult to ignore its fast growing impact.
Technologists believe that ChatGPT’s adoption – if not carefully managed – could take over the world rapidly, as it is not only fast but also provides real-time solutions to what people are searching for.
