About IPPF

The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is one of the world’s leading providers and advocates for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). Working across more than 150 countries through a federation of 149 national organisations, IPPF delivers life-changing health services and champions universal access to sexual and reproductive healthcare.

Over the past six years, IPPF and its Member Associations have delivered more than one billion services worldwide. Through its Come Together – Strategy 2028, IPPF is strengthening its role as a bold, feminist, and justice-driven movement—placing the organisation in a stronger position to support those who are left out, locked out, or left behind.

IPPF’s work is rooted in evidence, learning, and accountability. High-quality research and analysis are critical to shaping advocacy, improving service delivery, and influencing laws, policies, and social norms at national, regional, and global levels.

About the Role

IPPF is seeking a highly motivated Research Analyst to help strengthen the organisation’s evidence base and analytical capacity. This role will support the design, coordination, and execution of research and analysis that informs strategic decision-making, advocacy efforts, and program improvement across the Federation.

The Research Analyst will work closely with Member Associations, Secretariat colleagues, and external partners to generate insights from both qualitative and quantitative data. The role requires strong analytical skills, sound research judgment, effective project management, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences.

This position is well suited to someone who is passionate about sexual and reproductive health and rights, values evidence-informed action, and thrives in a collaborative, international environment.

Key Responsibilities

Research and Analysis

  • Support the development of research questions, study designs, and methodologies, using both qualitative and quantitative approaches to strengthen IPPF’s knowledge and evidence base.
  • Collaborate with Member Associations to conduct qualitative research, case studies, and learning initiatives that reflect diverse contexts and experiences.
  • Analyse IPPF’s service delivery data to generate actionable insights into client profiles, trends, and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the analysis of IPPF’s global Results Framework data for inclusion in the Annual Performance Report.
  • Work with academic institutions and research partners to develop and maintain trackers, indices, and analytical tools that enhance understanding of the global SRHR landscape.

Project Management and Coordination

  • Manage and coordinate research and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) partnerships with Member Associations and external organisations.
  • Ensure research projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to high quality standards.
  • Support effective planning, budgeting, and resource management for research initiatives.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners across regions.

Knowledge Sharing and Communication

  • Write and disseminate research reports, summaries, briefs, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
  • Translate complex research findings into clear, accessible, and compelling formats for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work across the IPPF Secretariat to discuss research findings and explore how evidence can be applied in advocacy, service delivery, fundraising, and strategic planning.
  • Promote learning and knowledge-sharing across teams and regions.

Cross-Cutting Responsibilities

  • Ensure gender equality is effectively mainstreamed within the scope of the role and aligned with IPPF’s Gender Equality Policy.
  • Build and maintain positive, respectful working relationships with colleagues and partners within and beyond the Federation.
  • Uphold ethical standards, confidentiality, and data protection principles in all research activities.
  • Carry out additional duties as reasonably requested in line with the role.

Skills and Expertise
