NCBA Group has opened applications for two senior positions in Nairobi as the bank continues strengthening its leadership team and expanding its financial services operations across the region.

The institution was formed following the merger of NIC Bank and Commercial Bank of Africa in December 2018. The merger created one of East Africa’s largest banking groups, combining strong retail banking capabilities with digital financial innovation.

  1. Senior Manager – Internal Audit Quality Assurance & Improvement

The role focuses on strengthening the internal audit framework within the bank. The successful candidate will oversee the development and implementation of the Internal Audit Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP), ensuring the bank complies with global internal audit standards and best practices.

Unlike traditional audit positions, the role will concentrate on improving audit quality, monitoring compliance, and coordinating external quality assessments.

  • Professional certifications such as CIA, CPA(K), or ACCA
  • Additional IT audit certifications like CISA or CISM are an advantage
  • At least 5–10 years of experience in internal audit quality assurance, including leadership experience within financial services or consulting.

  1. Head of Retail Payments

The bank is also seeking an experienced leader to manage and expand its payments ecosystem. The Head of Retail Payments will guide strategy across merchant acquiring, card services, mobile banking, agency banking, and digital payment channels.

The role is expected to drive innovation, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer payment solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • MBA or master’s degree is an added advantage
  • At least 10 years of experience in banking or fintech, including five years in senior leadership within digital payments or related areas
