About the Role
WUSC is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead Phase II of the DREEM initiative (2026–2031), which aims to support refugee, displaced, and host community (RDP) youth across Africa in accessing education and dignified work. A key component of this initiative is strengthening Refugee-Led Organizations (RLOs) and equipping local partners with tools and technical support for sustainable impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project strategy, implementation, and performance across multiple countries, ensuring alignment with WUSC and donor priorities.
  • Oversee technical assistance delivery through structured mechanisms and provide guidance to staff and partners.
  • Foster innovation and learning, integrating knowledge sharing across WUSC programs.
  • Manage relationships with donors, governments, private sector actors, and civil society partners.
  • Ensure robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems to track outcomes and inform adaptive management.
  • Lead a team of ~35 staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial management, and reporting, ensuring accountability and value for money.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years in senior management roles, ideally in development, forced displacement, or education initiatives.
  • Experience managing multi-country programs and technical assistance facilities.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of forced displacement and youth inclusion in Africa.
  • Fluency in English; French is an asset.
  • Ability to travel frequently within Africa and occasionally internationally.
