Position Summary

UBA Kenya is seeking an experienced and results-driven Branch Manager to lead its Nairobi branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, ensuring profitability, managing branch operations, and delivering exceptional customer experience while maintaining regulatory compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Business Development & Growth
  • Drive market expansion and strengthen the branch’s competitive position within the locality.
  • Deliver and exceed approved branch budgets and performance targets.
  • Monitor market trends and identify emerging business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong networks with individuals, SMEs, corporates, and community stakeholders.
  1. Profit & Loss Management
  • Take full ownership of the branch’s Profit & Loss (P&L) performance.
  • Optimize both human and material resources to ensure sustainable profitability.
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow customer wallet share across all segments.
  • Maximize market coverage and deepen penetration within the branch’s catchment area.

 

  1. Operations, Compliance & Leadership
  • Oversee daily branch operations, ensuring efficiency and service excellence.
  • Champion superior customer experience across all service touchpoints.
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Uphold brand standards and maintain a professional branch environment.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate staff while fostering a culture of continuous learning and performance improvement.

Key Performance Indicator (KPI)

  • Achievement of approved Profit Before Tax (PBT) targets for the branch.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • A postgraduate qualification or relevant professional certification will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ primary banking experience (sales and/or operations).
  • At least 2 years’ experience in retail, commercial banking, or branch operations with a reputable financial institution.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
