The Council of Europe has announced a new training opportunity for youth workers, volunteers, and organisers involved in international youth activities. The training course will be held at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg, France, from 4 to 9 February 2026.
This programme is designed for people working with international youth organisations, especially those connected to study sessions and projects supported by the European Youth Foundation (EYF). It offers a chance to build skills, gain new knowledge, and learn how to organise impactful intercultural youth activities.
Purpose of the Training
The main goal of the course is to strengthen the ability of youth organisations to run high-quality international programmes. Participants will learn how to use non-formal education methods, promote intercultural learning, and design activities that support the values of the Council of Europe — human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
By the end of the training, participants are expected to feel more confident in planning and facilitating youth activities while contributing to positive change in their communities.
Training Objectives
The course focuses on four key areas:
- Strengthening Organisational Skills
Participants will learn how to plan, implement, and evaluate youth activities in a structured and effective way.
- Using Non-Formal Education
The training will teach creative approaches to youth learning, helping participants design engaging and practical activities.
- Connecting to Council of Europe Priorities
Participants will understand how their organisation’s projects relate to the Council of Europe’s goals, standards, and educational tools.
- Encouraging Cooperation
The course provides space for youth workers and organisations to share ideas, build partnerships, and contribute to European Youth Centre and EYF programmes.
These objectives ensure that learners leave with practical tools and a stronger capacity to organise successful international youth events.
Who Can Apply?
The course is open to:
- Youth workers
- Volunteers
- Trainers and facilitators
- Professionals involved in international youth activities
Applicants should be motivated, ready to participate actively, and willing to collaborate with peers from different countries. Experience with the European Youth Foundation is an added advantage but not compulsory.
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted online by 4 January 2026, 23:59 CET. Selection will be based on the applicant’s motivation, experience, and potential to benefit from the training.
The course combines theory, hands-on practice, and peer learning, offering a meaningful experience for anyone seeking to improve their youth work skills.
