In Kenya, FFI has maintained a strong presence for over a century, formalizing its country programme in Nairobi in 2003. FFI has been instrumental in establishing and supporting wildlife conservancies across northern Kenya, helping balance conservation with community development. One of its flagship achievements is the creation of Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a leading model of conservation and sustainable land use. In addition to terrestrial conservation, FFI collaborates with coastal communities to strengthen marine resource management, ensuring both environmental protection and economic resilience.
