Job Description

We are recruiting 120 Food Systems Leaders across Kenya, Rwanda, and Zambia to join the prestigious African Food Fellowship – with 40 slots available per country.

This opportunity is designed for mid-career professionals (ages 27–50) who are actively working to transform food systems and drive sustainable impact across Africa.

Key Dates & Process

  • Application Deadline: 26th April 2026 (Midnight EAT)
  • Application review begins immediately — early applications are encouraged
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to 90-minute group interviews
  • Final offers will be issued by end of June 2026
  • Programme start date: September 2026

 

Programme Overview

Successful candidates will join the Food Systems Leadership Programme (FSLP) — a 10-month leadership journey delivered primarily online, requiring approximately 4 hours per week.

Participants will also benefit from:

  • A 3-day in-person module in January 2027 (hosted in-country)
  • Practical assignments, peer learning, and industry exposure
  • Ongoing engagement through national and regional networks

Upon completion, Fellows will receive a certificate from Wageningen University & Research and Wasafiri Consulting.

 

Programme Fee & Scholarships

  • Programme fee: USD 1,000 (payable in two installments)
  • A limited number of scholarships are available for eligible applicants
  • Participants are encouraged to explore organizational sponsorship opportunities
  • An additional enrollment fee of USD 100 applies
