The Youth Climate Changemakers Fund is offering micro-grants of up to €1,000 to informal youth groups across the European Union to support grassroots climate action. The fund targets unregistered and underrepresented groups, providing financial, training, and networking support through the Funding Fairer Futures initiative. Applications are open until 1 April 2026.
Eligible projects must be youth-led, lasting 6 to 12 months, and focused on strengthening local climate activism. Activities may include awareness campaigns, public engagement, mobilization, advocacy, training, workshops, and community outreach. The fund prioritizes projects that can create lasting impact beyond the grant period.
Applicants must be EU citizens under 30, represent a group of at least three people, and must not already be funded under another EU DEAR programme initiative. Informal and unregistered groups are strongly encouraged to apply, though registered organizations may also submit applications.
The fund aims to:
- Strengthen grassroots climate action
- Empower informal youth groups
- Expand participation in climate movements
- Build long-term capacity and sustainability
Through the Funding Fairer Futures platform, grantees receive additional support, including networking opportunities, mentorship, and guidance on project management and financial reporting.
How to Apply: Applicants should confirm eligibility, develop a clear project plan outlining objectives, activities, and expected outcomes, demonstrate fund management capacity, and submit the application through the official process.
This initiative addresses key barriers in youth climate activism, such as limited access to funding, exclusion of underrepresented voices, and lack of institutional support for early-stage groups. By lowering these barriers, the fund seeks to nurture a vibrant, connected community of young climate leaders across Europe.
