Safaricom is currently seeking qualified professionals to join its team in Nairobi on a full-time basis within the ICT and engineering space.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to uphold the company’s code of conduct, policies, and procedures, ensuring integrity, accountability, and compliance in all duties. The role involves maintaining base transceiver stations (BTS) within an assigned cluster to achieve radio access network (RAN) availability above 99.80 per cent, while supporting energy efficiency initiatives and power systems.

Additional responsibilities include handling customer complaints within the cluster, managing maintenance and rollout managed service providers to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to environment, health and safety (EHS) standards, and overseeing site costs. The role also entails participating in RAN, transmission, power hardware and software upgrades, supporting network optimization initiatives, automating routine tasks, and escalating persistent faults for resolution.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field, from a recognized institution. At least one year of experience in a GSM-related telecommunications role is required, alongside a valid driving licence. Skills in data analytics and coding will be an added advantage.
