Job Description

About Ruben Centre
Ruben Centre is a faith-based, non-profit organization dedicated to building an empowered and just Mukuru community through access to quality education, health, financial, and social services for children and families. Run by the Christian Brothers African Province, the Centre is one of eight Christian Brothers’ project sites across Africa and serves residents of one of Nairobi’s largest informal settlements, commonly known as Mukuru or Ruben Slum.

The Centre traces its roots to 1986 with the establishment of a primary school by Sister Mary Killeen, a Mercy Sister. Over the years, Ruben Centre has grown through key milestones, including government registration, the introduction of vocational training, improved security through a police post, and the development of a modern health clinic. Since 2003, following the introduction of free primary education in Kenya, the Centre has expanded significantly and now operates eight integrated programs focused on education, health, and community development.
