Engineer – Enterprise Applications

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Enterprise Applications, the Engineer, Enterprise Applications will work closely with a team of engineers to analyze business processes, translate requirements into technical solutions, and design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications.
The role supports system administration functions, application integration, configuration, and reporting across implemented platforms. The Engineer will also provide production support to ensure enterprise systems remain stable, secure, and aligned with operational and business needs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical & Operational Responsibilities –
- Design, develop, and maintain front-end, middle-tier, and back-end components of enterprise applications.
- Enhance and modify existing systems to support evolving business requirements.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for production application systems.
- Gather and refine user requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- Develop test plans, test data, and conduct system and user acceptance testing.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
- Ensure all IT service tickets are handled and resolved within agreed SLAs.
- Deploy approved solutions into production environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams on system integrations and projects.
- Adhere to organizational architectural, security, and documentation standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Experience using Microsoft and enterprise development tools such as Java, VB, C#, or Oracle Application Builder.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases including Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, or similar.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, business analysis, systems modeling, and data retrieval techniques.
- Experience implementing or supporting Oracle ERP solutions (Oracle E-Business Suite or Oracle Fusion ERP Cloud) is an added advantage.
Work Experience:
- At least 2 years of hands-on application development experience in a professional IT environment.
Security Operations Centre (SOC) Analyst – Business Analyst I

Job Purpose:
The Security Operations Centre (SOC) Analyst plays a key role in safeguarding the organization’s digital assets by monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats in real time.
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Cyber Security Operations, the role operates on a shift basis to provide 24/7 monitoring (“eyes-on-glass”) within the Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC). The Analyst serves as a first responder for suspected security incidents and collaborates with remediation teams to investigate, contain, escalate, and resolve cybersecurity threats, ensuring compliance with Central Bank of Kenya security requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Responsibilities –
- Support the achievement of the Bank’s cybersecurity objectives and overall strategic goals.
Technical & Operational Responsibilities:
- Perform continuous 24/7 monitoring of security alerts generated by deployed security tools.
- Analyze security events to determine threat validity, severity, and impact.
- Escalate confirmed incidents to Level 2 or Level 3 analysts for advanced investigation.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents including malware, data breaches, and insider threats.
- Document incidents, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.
- Collaborate with internal security and IT teams to coordinate incident response efforts.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by tuning security tools, recommending controls, and supporting policy enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- The following certifications are an added advantage:
- CCNA, CEH, CISA, CISM, or equivalent information security certifications
- Networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, CCIE, or equivalents
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Linux/Unix Operating Systems
Work Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in IT user support, operating systems, networking, or security operations.
- Working knowledge of:
- Network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, Syslog, NetFlow)
- Security technologies such as SIEM, IPS, Firewalls, Antivirus, Encryption, Content Filters
- Scripting and programming (Shell, Python) and web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, PHP)
- Vulnerability assessment and security baseline standards
